Graphic Designer (half-time) – Clean Energy Canada

SEEKING: a graphic designer with an eye for bold and modern design, proven experience producing print and digital products (bonus points for video), and a passion for climate action.
ABOUT THIS JOB
The Graphic Designer is responsible for designing Clean Energy Canada’s various communications materials, including all reports, important presentations, social media postcards, and other graphic needs as they arise. Familiarity with video editing would be an asset. This position is approximately half-time with regularly scheduled working hours. The role will be based out of our Vancouver office with some flexibility (Toronto, Ottawa, and Victoria may be considered, but Vancouver is preferred).
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs all Clean Energy Canada reports (InDesign) and makes necessary revisions
- Designs social media postcards (Photoshop/Illustrator) and GIFs in close consultation with the Sr. Digital Communications Specialist
- Designs important presentations (PowerPoint) and funder reports (InDesign)
- Assists with printing when necessary
- Acts as the organization’s “co-art-director” alongside the Communications Director
- Implements and project manages any visual brand refreshes or updates (such as the creation of a new template for staff use)
Brand upkeep and archiving
- Ensures visual consistency and quality across all designed materials, our website, and other digital channels
- Manages, organizes, and keeps current our library of images and visual assets
Video production (asset)
- Works with the Senior Digital Communications Specialist on video production, ranging from sourcing stock footage to video editing, depending on skill level and time
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Relevant work experience in a similar role, at a creative agency, or as a contractor
- A proven history of meeting deadlines
- A portfolio of relevant work, including both print and digital design samples
- Fluency with the Adobe suite, especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Understands the requirements and best practices for print design versus digital
- Video editing skills would be an asset
- A passion for combating climate change with a solutions-oriented approach
