Young Designers Express their Pandemic Experience in American Hardwood
This month (September), visitors to the London Design Museum will be able to see the results of American Hardwood Export Council’s collaboration with leading design magazine Wallpaper.
Their Discovered initiative has given 20 international designers from 16 countries the opportunity to showcase their skills by creating a new object or piece of furniture using sustainable American hardwood to express their unique experience of the pandemic.
Created over several in-depth virtual meetings with four international mentors and manufacturing workshops in England, Portugal, Malaysia and Australia, the 20 projects are now on show at an exhibition at London’s Design Museum until 15 October 2021.
Watch the story of Discovered and see some of the resulting creations.
